Construction of the new bridge designed by CrossRoad Engineers was completed in the fall of 2008. A ribbon cutting ceremony in September officially connected Daviess and Dubois Counties with a new road alignment leading to the bridge spanning 430 feet over the East Fork of the White River. The new bridge is located 750 feet upstream from the location of the old steel Camelback bridge, which was relocated to an Indiana state park for use as a pedestrian bridge and preserved as a historical structure.
