WALTER “CHIP” CHARLES, P. E.
President
Chip is the President of CrossRoad Engineers, PC. His responsibilities include the preparation of applications for funding, the determination of the scope of work, and contract negotiations. He is also responsible for making company resources available as needed for the preparation of plans and specifications, and for construction observation. Using contacts developed over the years to procure new clients, Chip directs the growth of the company. Additionally, he manages the day-to-day operations of the company.
Chip is a registered professional engineer in the State of Indiana. He is a 1976 honors graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, Indiana, with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, Chip was employed by the Indiana Department of Transportation where his major areas of work were design, planning, construction engineering, and inspection. Since 1978, he has worked with two consulting engineering firms. His work experience has taken him to various locations throughout the United States; however, most of his efforts have been concentrated within the State of Indiana.
